More Pictures

Time to catch up. We had a planned c-setion on the 9th due to the baby being breech. We got up at 5:00am to be at the hosptial by 6:30am. We had been watching the news the night before and found out that the whole state was under a winter storm warning as they were expecting blizzard Allison to blow through across Wisconsin. (I know I only thought they named Hurricanes!) We woke up to find 18 inches of fresh snow all around. Ryan got busy shoveling the driveway, which took him a half an hour. The roads in our sub-division weren't plowed yet so he took his dune truck and literally ran it up and down the streets to clear a path to the highway. We called the hospital to let them know we would be late and would arrive as soon a possible. I wasn't too worried as our doctor lives in our same subdivision. I knew if we couldn't get out neither could he. Besides, they weren't going to start the c-section without me.

We arrived at the hospital about an hour late and from there it was a whirlwind of activity. Before we knew it we were in the operating room listening to Addison's first cries. Very sureal. I have to say a c-section is definatley the way to go. I almost feel like I cheated. I only felt some chest pain due to air in my abdomin and that's it. Recovery has been super quick and besides the sleep deprivation we are doing great. It also helps that my Mom is here for a month (I don't think my house has ever been this clean so many days in a row!) and Ryan is off until Jan 1st.

Addison is so cute. Of course we are a little partial. She has big chubby cheeks, a darker complexion like her Dad, and lots and lots of dark black hair. She is a good baby and only cries when she is hungry or gassy. Any tips on dealing with gas would be highly appreciated. We feel very blessed to have Addison in our family. Keep following the blog for updates on her progress and to watch her grow.

  1. I am so happy to hear you are doing well! Don't feel bad about the c-section as I have had 3 (but didn't have a choice either). She is so cute and perfect! Much love!

  2. Ummmm....I could have sworn the title of this post was "More Pictures." J/K :) I'm just glad to hear that everything is going well. I haven't heard from you and you haven't posted so I began to worry that things were a little rough! I miss you, Brooke! I wish you were here with me to watch While You Were Sleeping and eat ice cream with me...

  3. Yeah! Congrats! I forgot how close you were. She is adorable. Love her hair and cheeks. Hope you are great. Good luck with the gas problem. I use gas drops and it gets better with time. Congrats again!
