Three Weeks Old

I can't believe she is three weeks old already. The time is flying by and we can see her growing every day. After some trouble gaining weight she finally has made it back up to her birth weight and 2 additional ounces for a grand total of 9.9lbs. Thanks to Grandpa Rick for the cute little onesies and to Sis. Mower for the soft blanket. Do you just love her clippy. Ryan picked them out and put them in her stocking.
Addison is more alert during the day now and is on a pretty regular 3 hour eating schedule day and night. We are very glad that the night time schedule has smoothed out a bit. Sleep is still hard to come by but it's getting better every day. Besides, even when you are bone dog tired these little eye melt your heart, even at 3:30am.

Blessing Day

Today was an especially special Sunday as it was the day Addison was blessed. We wondered if they would call off church due to the weather. It has been snowing non-stop since yesterday and the roads were quite slippery. Luckily for us there was no freezing rain and church continued as normal. Addison had a beautiful blessing performed by her Grandpa Layne. She was blessed with many wonderful things for her life. We are so lucky to have her in our family.

The dress and booties I wore when I was was blessed and Grandma Cec made the blanket just for the occasion.

Posing in her 1st Christmas pajamas thanks to Grandma Jodi. She wasn't as into it as we were.

More Pictures

Time to catch up. We had a planned c-setion on the 9th due to the baby being breech. We got up at 5:00am to be at the hosptial by 6:30am. We had been watching the news the night before and found out that the whole state was under a winter storm warning as they were expecting blizzard Allison to blow through across Wisconsin. (I know I only thought they named Hurricanes!) We woke up to find 18 inches of fresh snow all around. Ryan got busy shoveling the driveway, which took him a half an hour. The roads in our sub-division weren't plowed yet so he took his dune truck and literally ran it up and down the streets to clear a path to the highway. We called the hospital to let them know we would be late and would arrive as soon a possible. I wasn't too worried as our doctor lives in our same subdivision. I knew if we couldn't get out neither could he. Besides, they weren't going to start the c-section without me.

We arrived at the hospital about an hour late and from there it was a whirlwind of activity. Before we knew it we were in the operating room listening to Addison's first cries. Very sureal. I have to say a c-section is definatley the way to go. I almost feel like I cheated. I only felt some chest pain due to air in my abdomin and that's it. Recovery has been super quick and besides the sleep deprivation we are doing great. It also helps that my Mom is here for a month (I don't think my house has ever been this clean so many days in a row!) and Ryan is off until Jan 1st.

Addison is so cute. Of course we are a little partial. She has big chubby cheeks, a darker complexion like her Dad, and lots and lots of dark black hair. She is a good baby and only cries when she is hungry or gassy. Any tips on dealing with gas would be highly appreciated. We feel very blessed to have Addison in our family. Keep following the blog for updates on her progress and to watch her grow.
