Pictures

Morning pictures.

I love this outfit. It is such a big person outfit made small. These are her first jeans too.
Cute little monkey
New Sunday dress.
What the heck?
Pretty little girl.
The magic of the swing has worn off and we are still fighting our naps.
She's gaining her weight alright. Look at all those adorable little rolls. It makes slow going at bathtime.

More Pictures

Addison has started to smile socially. Here are two pictures where we attempted to capture it on film.
This little onsie makes her look too big too soon.
She loves her Dad and pays close attention to him when he is home.
Naps are hard around here. She goes down only to wake up when she startles and her arms flail, of when she loses her pacifier. The swing is one place where she tends to stay asleep.
Hmmm, I think this shirt is finally too small. What do you think? Notice the little bunny slipper her great grandma bought her. Love them.

It was a great day today as last night Addison slept through for 3.5 and 4 hours at a stretch. I feel like a brand new woman today. I even started planning my next decorating project. A little too ambitious too soon, probably. Cross your fingers these stretches last and extend even longer!

One Month Old

This kid is seriously cute. Ryan and I find ourselves laughing so many times at the things she does or as you can see below the faces she makes. Sometimes Mom takes one too many pictures. I love this little outfit so I had to get a good shot of it before she grows out of it. We are noticing her growing every day. The other night I noticed how much heavier she's gotten when I went to lift her up to burp her. At her last appointment she weighed in at 10lbs+.
This one speaks for itself. If your reaction is anything like ours your are laughing out loud right now.
I think we are partial to how cute she is. However, where ever we go people back us up by telling us how darling she is. I don't know the number of people who ask to hold her whenever we go out. I think the whole hospital and Dr. office staff has had their hands on her. And then they go into the back room to show her off to their co-workers. The other day when I took her to the pediatrician our favorite receptionist held her and took her into the back. Our appointment came up before Kim brought her back out and I had to go ask for her back. It must be nice to be so adored.
I love this little tummy. She reminds me of her Pa all relaxed in a recliner after dinner. You can even see her little belly button sticking out of her onesie.

This shirt was picked for the day because it was the first day she socially smiled at her Dad. Don't you just love the shoe/socks.
Addison is learning that she has hands and has begun to suck on her fingers. This discovery is a welcome one as fingers don't drop out of her mouth as easily as a paci does. She is getting much more alert and can now focus on our faces and really see us. She loves her bath time until she has to get cold in getting out. Her favorite part comes straight after that when she's plopped into a towel that has just come straight out of the dryer. She loves it.
This last Wednesday I was talking to Addison and she started cooing back to me. She also gave me some smiles. It is really so rewarding watching her grow and develop before our eyes. I am shocked at how much she has changed in just one month. She is still a really good baby and only cries when she's hungry or has gas/gut pains. She generally sleeps for two hours at night making a total of three wake-up for feedings. She is a hard burp though and sometimes we end up with a sad baby who has gas for awhile.

We have been having a hard time getting her down for naps until this last week when I made a discovery. Our morning routine is getting her up at 9, feeding her a bottle, changing the diaper and getting her dressed. Then it's my turn to get ready. I have been taking her into the bathroom with me while I do my hair and make-up. I set her in her car seat and we hang out. The other morning she was tired when I put her in her seat and then I proceeded to blow out my hair. And to my astonishment she fell asleep by herself and stayed asleep until I turned the blow dryer off. My eyes were probably huge in disbelief. I quickly took her into her room with the blow dryer in tow. I plopped her seat on the floor and plugged in the dryer and she knocked off again! Yes! So now at everyday at ten o'clock central time you can be assured there is a blow dryer plugged in and a precious baby sleeping away for her morning nap.
